Story compass won't stop spinning

Moon Shine has taken an interesting few turns in recent months, and many of you are asking the same question. Whether you’ve been here since Dan first Hobbes’d Tim coming back from spring break, or if this is the first time you’re visiting (welcome!), you are in all likelihood thinking, ‘...what?’

Okay, so, I know it’s not super clear to you where we’re going to end up, and it’s only a little less clear to me. But! I’ve known for a long time that what I wanted to be writing was a Tolkien-esque fantasy strip, though I didn’t want to give up on the cast of Moon Shine. I didn’t want to give up on these relationships that had begun evolving and writing themselves--one of my proudest achievements as a writer thus far--and in whose lives I myself had become emotionally invested.

However, I also didn’t want to deus ex machina the storyline and just go *boop!* you all have spells and armor and stuff now. This JC Particle thing? Don’t know where it came from, but I love where it’s going, and it never would’ve happened if I just magicked my friends away to a contrived and done-to-death fantasy setting.

All I’m saying is, bear with me (rawr). It’s gonna’ be awesome.
